Want to host an event?
Keen for a stall at Out in the Park?
The Wellington Pride Festival | Tū Whakahīhī e Te Whanganui-ā-Tara showcases events organised by and for our community, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, takatāpui, fa’afafine, intersex, queer, and all other gender and sexual minorities.
Our festival is a two-week long festival across Wellington celebrating our LGBTTIQA+ community. The festival is inspired by Wellington's rich history of queer fairs and festivals and showcases the incredible talent, hard work, and creativity of Wellington's queer community. Wellington is a wonderfully diverse city, and the festival program is a celebration of this diversity.
The Festival grew from the Newtown Lesbian & Gay Fair, which was created in 1986 to build support for the Homosexual Law Reform. Since then, the fair has grown into an annual celebration of the diverse LGBTTIQA+ communities in the nation's capital and is possibly the longest-running rainbow community event in Aotearoa including the key events such as Out in the Park.
Wellington Pride Festival | Tū Whakahīhī e Te Whanganui-ā-Tara Incorporated (formerly Out Wellington Inc) is a registered society with an elected committee of volunteers serving as the society board. We invite everyone to get involved.
