This year marks 40 years since Wellington’s first Gay & Lesbian Fair - a gathering that helped spark the Pride movement and paved the way toward visibility, equality, and belonging.
To honour this milestone, Everybody Eats invites you to 40 Years at the Table: a one-night, four-course Pride dinner celebrating four decades of courage, resistance, visibility, and community.
Each course represents a decade, not as a history lesson, but as a feeling - from the bravery of early gatherings, through years of activism and care, to the joy of being seen, and the belonging we continue to build together today.
The dinner will be shared and welcoming, made using rescued and donated ingredients, and served in Everybody Eats’ signature long-table style. Food is pay-as-you-can, keeping the evening accessible to all, with drinks available for purchase at the bar.
Alongside the meal, there will be a few short reflections acknowledging Pride’s origins and celebrating the power of community coming together around a table.
Join us to eat, connect, and toast to the next 40 years.
