Wellington Pride Festival officially runs from 6 - 22 March, but you’ll find events here on either side of that as well, as Pride is not just a two week thing.

The majority of these events have been created by the community. However, the Wellington Pride Festival Committee produces the following Signature Events:

They Ate: Blueberry lemon loaf
In this free cooking class, we’re focusing on sweet treats, making blueberry lemon loaf.
Chosen Family Night
Chosen Family Night returns to Te Waka Huia Wellington Museum for a vibrant evening filled with queer history, art and community.
Hosted by Lilly Loudmouth, the festivities include rainbow history tours, drag and music performances, dirty poetry reading and wholesome crafts.
All welcome. Valid ID required for cash bar.
Pink Pony Club Rosé Party
Rose tasting with a delectable selection of wines. A DJ spinning tunes afterwards.
Pride After Dark: He Rā Whatiwhati Kō
Celebrate Pride within the maramataka season of ngahuru with an evening of waiata, talks, hands-on workshops, and kai, in the museum after dark.
Fat Queers Eating Cake
Fat Queers Eating Cake! is a shared meal for fat queers of all genders to gather with friends old and new, free of any diet talk or body shaming.
Pride Cocktail Making Class & Dinner
Pride Cocktail Making Class - Sangria drinks reception, then come behind the bar to make a classic cocktail of your choosing. Round off the 90 minute class with interactive party games and a fun quiz. A dinner with a set menu will follow the Cocktail Making Class.
40 Years at the Table: A Pride Dinner at Everybody Eats
This year marks 40 years since Wellington’s first Gay & Lesbian Fair - a gathering that helped spark the Pride movement and paved the way toward visibility, equality, and belonging. To honour this milestone, Everybody Eats invites you to 40 Years at the Table: a one-night, four-course Pride dinner celebrating four decades of courage, resistance, visibility, and community.
Rainbow Cookie Decorating + morning tea
Come and decorate your own rainbow themed cookies! Learn some new techniques in a fun small group setting and then take your creations home with you.
Pride Picnic
Join us as we conclude the Wellington Pride Festival 2026 with a vibrant community picnic!
