What’s happening
Wellington Pride Festival officially runs from 6 - 22 March, but you’ll find our events here on either side of that as well, as Pride is not just a two week thing.

The majority of these events have been created by the community. However, the Wellington Pride Festival Committee produces the following Signature Events:
6 March - 22 March: Rainbow Windows of Wellington
14 March: Pride Youth Ball

Films Screening: The Labyrinth of the Moons
The Labyrinth of the Moons, a joyful Argentinian documentary about trans motherhood, trans childhood, and the labyrinth of identity.
Hugo's Rainbow Show
A musical, magical adventure exploring the science of the skies above. Expect original songs and stories, and of course outrageous costumes in this novel rainbow-reading-style experience about the magic of meteorology. Hugo's Rainbow Show is for everyone! But best for two to ten year olds and our neurodivergent whānau.

Join us as we conclude the Wellington Pride Festival 2026 with a vibrant community picnic!
The Big Gay Bout
Roll into Pride with Pōneke’s very own Richter City Roller Derby as they join forces with Queer & Takatāpui Roller Derby to bring a really exciting bout.

Felt Your Flag
Felt Your Flag is a relaxed, beginner-friendly needle felting workshop where you make a small pride flag piece (patch, keyring, or mini wall hanging). Suitable for ages 8+ (under 14s supervised).
Sincerely, Queerly, Glamorous! Art market and exhibition
Showcasing for sale the works of Rainbow, Queer and takatapui artists. From small art market items to paintings, this promises to offer plenty of creativity to feast your eyes on!
Out at the Zoo
Out at the Zoo is a family-friendly weekend, running from the 21st to 22nd of March, full of fun activities for our rainbow communities and wider allies.
The theme of Out at the Zoo is ‘celebrating the diversity of the living world – across both animals and people!’

Be part of our all-day family friendly fair event with stalls, stage performances, delicious food and drink and a jam-packed day of LGBTTQIA+ celebration and vibes.
Small Wheels Pride
Come and join Ngā Wīra Iti Collective, the lively, vibrant, and diverse small wheels communities of Te Whanganui-a-Tara, for a bunch of small wheels activities on the waterfront! Seaside Skates and Richter City Roller Derby will have stalls at Out in the City, there'll be a Roller Pride Parade, skate sessions, demonstrations, a mini roller disco, and an opportunity to give skating a go and get some pointers.
Pride Hīkoi
Pride has always been, and will always be, a protest.
This hīkoi will allow us to march together into Out in the City
Wellington Wanderers Pride stroll, lunch, and coffee
Meet outside Maranui Cafe for a stroll along the South Coast for as long as we feel like it. We will head towards Island Bay and then when we are ready for a chat and coffee or equivalent, we will stop (or turn around) and frequent one of the many cafes along the way.
MarkeT4T / parTy4T: a fundraiser for PATHA
Trans and allies, let's get together to defend the right to puberty blockers while appreciating our amazing trans, nonbinary, intersex and takatāpui talent! This event starts with a market of crafts and arts, followed by bands, then the R18 evening will have comedians, drag performances and DJs! Fundraising for PATHA.
